The vast majority of Brazilian Kombis that Danbury imported over the years were entirely Candy White, allowing new owners to choose a specific colour for the lower half. This 2012 Danbury Rio is in a fabulous shade of Fizzy Orange, a colour that we rarely see, so if you’re looking for an individual campervan, this could well be it. It also has the bonus of very low miles – which certainly reflect its condition.
It’s effervescent style has been very well considered. The exterior features white bumpers, original black door mirrors, orange indicator lenses and lowered suspension on chrome and black BRM style alloy wheels. The spare wheel is located on the offside rear of the camper in a matching black vinyl cover. The rear bumper houses parking sensors.
However the most expensive and useful option on this Kombi is the Danbury Direct Drive Power Steering. This gives a Brazilian VW T2 a car like feel on the open road. We find that a number of our customers who are looking to replace a family car with a camper, simply love this option. Parallel parking and manoeuvres in tight spaces are a breeze.
The Tartan cloth upholstery of this Kombi is reminiscent of Classic Westfalia Bay Window campers of the 1970s. The Kombi will carry 4 comfortably, up front the driver and passenger seats have 3 point seatbelts, the rear has 2 lap belts. At extra cost we can fit 3 point seat belts to the rear seat.
The Rio conversion in the latest style from Danbury means a 3/4 width bed combined with multiple cupboards including the optional rear cupboard. All in matching orange flavour! This includes the rare centre console and buddy seat, which will enable 4 to sit around the removable table.
Raising the pop top creates a full 4 berth camper when combined with upper bed boards and a mattress, and makes the camper significantly more practical when pitched.
The Rio unit contains all you would need for a camping adventure – twin hob with grill, sink with electrically pumped cold water and a low power fridge.
Its modern water-cooled engine ensures reliability and low running costs. The 80bhp 1.4 motor can return upwards of 35mpg.
